Last week GISW was formally approved for up to five new internship positions. The Intern Nebraska Program was signed into legislation in Spring 2011 to promote job creation and help keep great students in Nebraska. GISW is proud to be a part of this program and we are hiring for software developer, GIS technician and marketing internships.

We are looking for a graphic artist with skills in interface design and Web development. The position is available as a full-time position or internship. If you or someone you know is interested in an exciting position with a growing technology company please look at the job posting on our website.
Several of our clients were recently awarded grant funding from the State of Nebraska. GIS Workshop worked with both existing clients and potential clients to develop grant applications. GISW assisted with the process wherever our clients wanted help, including proposals, conference calls and responding to written questions. Most of the clients we assisted were awarded grant funding!
We are excited to see Buffalo, Cherry, Keith and Pawnee counties build GIS databases to help us work towards our goal of statewide parcel coverage!

Nebraska Public Power District is working with GISW to develop a Web interface for accessing easement documents. Users can search for a specific geographic region, zoom in or search by document parameters. The results table can be filtered and sorted to find documents and includes a link to scanned versions of the paper files. continue reading…
The City of Fremont asked us to develop a city mapping website to provide citizens with direct answers. Our team worked with City staff to identify priority data layers and included them on the WebGIS site. The site includes zoning, voting precincts, city council wards, floodplains, school districts, schools, subdivisions, parks, bus routes and various base map layers. The site helps reduce the daily call volume for City staff by answering many common questions. continue reading…
